Eligibility: in order to apply for support, organizations must meet the basic eligibility criteria as follows:

Organizations must be either a 501c3 designated nonprofit or a community group with a 501c3 fiscal sponsor

Organizations must be headquartered and operating in New Jersey with a strong programmatic focus and impact in Monmouth County
-
Organizations must demonstrate strategic and programmatic attention to addressing social inequities within their respective field(s) and sphere of influence.
Application Dates and Deadlines
Organizations may apply during the cycle of their choosing and only once during a 12-month period. To view a pdf of the application, click here.
Cycle 1: Spring

February 1: Application opens - application is live on the Foundation’s grants portal and organizations may begin to submit their application

March 15: Application closes - deadline for organizations to submit their application

April - May: Site Visits and/or zoom meetings between the Foundation and the organizations, as needed

June 20 (on/or before): Notification of Funding Decisions and Distribution of Grant Awards
Cycle 2: Autumn

September 1: Application opens - application is live on the Foundation’s grants portal and organizations may begin to submit their application

October 1: Application closes - deadline for organizations to submit their application

October 15 - Nov 15: Site Visits and/or zoom meetings between the Foundation and the organizations, as needed

Annual Progress Reports
All organizations are required to submit a report on the use of grant funds by accessing the report form within your grants portal.

Deadlines for Reporting

Cycle 1: Spring - if you received your grant in June, reports are due by the following March 15 (for single-year grants) and May 1 (for multi-year grants).

Cycle 2: Autumn - if you received your grant in December, reports are due by the following October 1 (for both single-year and multi-year grants).
Reports must include your 990 from your most recently completed fiscal year. Reports must be received by the deadline in order for new funding to be considered or multi-year funding to be initiated.
How to Apply
STEP 1
For new applicants only: please let us know, in advance of the application deadline, that you intend to apply. NOTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED, but letting us know when you intend to apply helps us project our grant cycle funding, and gives us more of an opportunity to get to know your organization.

STEP 2
For all applicants: create a profile or log-in to our Grants Portal
STEP 3
In the grants portal, click on APPLY at the top of your dashboard. To view a pdf of the General Operating application, click here.
STEP 4
Look for the “Grant Application (general operating & project grants)”. You have access to complete the application within the portal when the grant cycles are open:

Spring Cycle: between February 1 and March 15

Autumn Cycle: between September 1 and October 1
Grant applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on either March 15 or October 1 to be considered for funding.
