Wabanakiq in Maine

We are committed to nurturing vibrant, equitable, self-determined, and compassionate communities.

We look forward to working collaboratively with people of vision and passion – those we know and those we hope to know – who are driving systemic change.

Let's Begin a Conversation

Are you a Wabanaki-led 501c3 organization or fiscally-sponsored Wabanaki community group seeking funding for your mission?  The Foundation's Trustees welcome a conversation with you.  Please reach out to Sheila Unvala (sheila@stonefdnnj.org) and Sepp Huber (sepp@stonefdnnj.org). â€‹

Ready to Send an Application?
Funding requests can be for General Operating support or Special Project support.

General Operating grants are reviewed by the trustees twice a year, spring and fall.  Applications for General Operating support should be received by March 15 for a funding decision in early June, and October 1 for a funding decision in early December.

Special Project support applications are reviewed alongside the GenOp cycle but if the request is time-sensitive, every effort will be made to review the application within 60 days of receipt of the application.  If your request is time-sensitive, please let us know.

Applications for either GenOp or Special Project may be sent at any time of the year.

Stories of Progress and Learning
For Wabanaki organizations whom we are privileged to support, we appreciate hearing about your successes, challenges, and learning as your work progresses.  After receiving the initial grant and before future applications for support can be considered, please send us a brief narrative report and financial accounting on how the grant funds were used.

Your story of progress and learning can be emailed to Trustees Sepp Huber and Sheila Unvala.  â€‹
